.....Well, ya see it's like this people....da Dingo and his partner (Clay) have some problems and issues to deal with, neither of us are getting anywhere so da Dingo gets a bug up his ass and takes off out of (Woodstock) Atlanta on October 31, 2002 - with a planned destination of Santa Monica to check out the possibility of re-locating there for a while.....6,949 miles and SIX WEEKS later the DingoMan comes back after many calls and letters from Clay to Jimmy.....in the meantime I see some old buddies, friends, places I have not been to for years, do another sweat lodge, take a few pictures (they're coming up as soon asd I sort through them guys), meet some new buddies and in general just have a fucking good time - and I'm back in time for Cristmas with my partner Clay - who went out and bought a 12 foot tree just for da Dingo to hike his leg on...... ...the maps below show my routes - there were many off road unplanned places I visited that are not on these maps.....I was able to revisit the Grand Canyon area and the Mojave Desert - and much more..... .....this was the FIRST BIG TRIP for the '02 ACE (it had previously just finished a 1500 mile round trip to Springfield MO in September and a 2100 mile round trip to Austin in July.....WEATHER was great during the day time on all segments - during the nights it got bitter cold, sometimes dropping down to the low 30's in the mountain/desert areas - between Shreveport and Austin I rode in rain but stayed on the route below (takes about 4 hours longer than the interstate).....those who are contemplating taking a trip out on IH 10 should be advised that from west Texas all the way into Palm Springs CA gas stations are few and far between AND gasoline prices soared as high as $2.97 a gallon - OCTANE went from 93 to 91 at the pumps - if you see yourself getting below 1/2 tank - gas up!....most REST AREAS are usually secured 24/7 (in NM the areas were manned by janitors at nite who nod off on the late shifts).....picnic areas and those scenic views are not secured.....in New Mexico and Arizona I strongly advise that you heed the warning signs about poisonous snakes/insects/reptiles inhabiting the areas.....in some areas there are "sudden" dust storms and strong crosswinds - there's signage warning of this as well..........ALWAYS WATCH FOR THE CRITTERS AND DEER that may cross the road - particularly at night!..........I stayed with a few people along the route I either knew or had met on the internet BUT there are plenty of really cheap ($20 to $30) motel rooms - very clean, run by older couples - well worth checking into.....my favorite was in Van Burn TX - The Sands Motor Inn.....
Woodstock, GA to Austin, TX - with some side roads along the way - 1255 miles Best part aside from riding??? checking into a Relax Inn, turning on to watch the weather and seeing hard core porno on the TV......later on that night I woke up to the sounds of a woman in the room behind my headboard - after about 30 minutes it stopped and.....
Austin to Santa Monica - 2923 miles with side trips not on the map....there were lots of "best things" that happened on this segment of the trip (they'll come out later) but one of the best ones was at a rest area outside of Las Cruces NM - I was sitting in one of the little wind shelters smoking a Camel in the late evening - a biker walks up, sits down and we start shooting the shit with each other - he's drinking a couple of beers while we're talking and finally I ask him "You know what I would like to do?" "what's that?" he replies back. "I would like to suck your dick." I got up as I said it, ready to walk away and leave on my ACE but when he said, "yeah - that's cool man" - well - we both wound up playing with each other's cocks - I sucked him while he played with mine - then he sucked mine and we jerked off together - and that was it!.....He got up, said "see ya" and drove off on his 1982 Honda 750.....
Santa Monica to Woodstock - 2871 miles.....the best thing about this segment of the trip was coming back to Clay - he convinced me that he indeed was in love with me and had taken several steps to take care of some of the issues we had problems with.....I stopped at the same rest area outside of Las Cruces and pondered the biker I had met almost three weeks earlier.....after taking a piss I headed back towards my motorcycle and saw a small roadrunner perched on the seat of my ACE - I stopped and looked at this and within a couple of minutes he took off - first time I ever saw one of those things that close.....
