.....a Toast to My Ozarka Gurlie Bikers.....
.....that's Pam yer looking at after a long day of riding....the motorcycle, not Patti!.....
.....I had only been in Springfield for just a few days and was having a drink at The Edge (the BEST CLUB I have
been in since leaving Austin - a good mix of everyone without "the attitude") - so this womyn walks in and sez
"...
we're glad to see ya Dingo......" - Pam introduced herself and Patti and said they were happy to have
someone else to ride with that was gay (and I was the only gay man riding a cycle there)....then we found out
quickly that we had many things in common - basically we're yer average biker beer joint people - go work,
ride then have a few beers and go home.....
PAM & PATTI - I LOVE YA BOTH!
.....it was a GREAT SEVEN MONTHS in Springfield.....that's the two Chris' (two guys center, beer in one hand and
arm around each other).....me with my two fingers over Pam's head and that's Patti spread out across the laps
of two of their friends.....the two Chris' are really wonderful guys to know and have as friends - they are down to
earth and real.....Pam was up at 5am that morning to start smoking the beef for me, the Chris' BBQ'd a pork
tenderloin, ribs and sausages.....Clay took the photo and what you do not see is an old mattress behind the trees
that had "da DingoMan" spray painted on it - just in case I needed a bed to sleep on when I come up to visit.....
.....that was a sad day for me in parting but a kewl day in knowing that I had a new home to go to.....
.....Pam got the old '87 black Zippo (I quit smoking the next day)....from what I understand she also uses the
black hanky she "gently coaxed" out of my back pocket that day to wipe her eyes with during those weepy
moments....
.....Patti says Pam is like the Sta Puff Marshmellow Man.....but then again, little ole Patti is NOT an innocent thing
either.....story has it that she body slams very hard and one night she gave Pam a kiss that was so damn full of
dynamite at The Edge that the floor rose up to them.....uh huh, then suckered me into believing that she had the
flu the next day - I now call it the infamous 7 screw flu (as in screwdrivers) - I'm pretty gulible at times and she
knew how to work me quite well on "feeling sorry" for her.....
PAM, PATTI, lil CHRIS, and big CHRIS -
I LOVE YA ALL - THANK YOU!
GOD BLESS YA ALL!
.....the gurls and I
had far too many
great times to
mention within
these pages.....
one of the best
experiences
we had
(aside from
sharing our
pizzas and
pitchers of beer
with what we
called our
Pitcher Club) was
when someone
made a bet with
us one day that
we could not suck
 the beer down to
a certain level
between the two
of us with
straws...... well,
we had Patti
coaching us as
we started ---->
sucking our red
beer up through
two long straws
I had crafted
from several
straws..... we
thought we had
made it by
Patti's
comments but
when you are
looking deep
down into a
pitcher of beer
and sucking up
it's a
whole
different
perspective
...
we missed our
mark by a
fraction of an
inch and lost
that bet......then
started on our
next pitcher.....
to drown out our
loss.....
Pam has an '82 Honda sitting in the living room getting repaired as of June 2002.....in the meantime they are
driving Patti's 2001 Honda Shadow.....and hopefully we'll see them in Atlanta for Pride after the Honda Hoot....
.....taken long after we had gotten back from a ride down to Cactus Canyon.....I recall that day quite well.....the
gurls came by very early, it was sunny and warm with no rain in sight....Pam's suggestion to ride without chaps
and jackets that day (and it happens to me every single time!) wound up having a bunch of us ride for almost 2
hours in a very cold hard down pour of rain.....with a stop to dry out clothes in the dryer along the way......
......"blame it on Pam" was the motto of the day between 6 riders who took her advice.....
.....oh, we still love ya Pam!.....we know Patti does for sure, eh?.....
