Clay's hardened steel Virtues remained in their foundation throughout it all as the Dingo slowly faded away while they continued loving each other..... | The other night my soul hit the pavement And I looked up, and I didn't have eyes Oh to see the beauty, joy and the tenderness The reasons why a man's alive Sometimes a darkness falls upon the spirit And it gets dark like there ain't never been light May be angels singing, but you don't want to hear it That inner flame ain't burning so bright Every love has a whole in the middle Where the wickedness always survives Eats at your soul, maybe just a little Then it gets as big as the night Doesn't matter how much you show her Sure don't matter what she's trying to show you When you can't feel it, that love seems to scatter And precious little gonna see you through There's a line you can hold Through the separateness and sin Open up your soul And let the sky fall in The deepest journeys pass through the wilderness The desert where the burning question resides To taste the magic you must first suck the emptiness From a cup that is always dry Inside the silence, and total aridity Where the horizon is a perfect line Lies a drop that precedes the humidity Of simple grace, that pours like wine And you'll find no saints here When the going gets this rough But you may find grace If you're lucky enough And we're going on faith here and all of that kind of stuff and even grace if we're lucky enough Lyrics by John Barlow and Bob Weir Music by RatDog |
Honest Heart "Mike" with a Great Ear, and Much More, for the Dingo! There's still Gold up there in Washington.
One of the very few people who helped the Dingo answer that "burning question" in that desert! Ms. Bettye's Heart has helped lift many a person out of that darkness. When the Dingo had strayed out of the Flock Ms. Bettye's Light unwittingly guided the old boy back to where he originally was, within his Sacred Circle.
Apple pie, sweet iced tea, catfish dinner, "bun on the run", real cast iron skillet biscuits, an honor system for all, looking out after others unselfishly, bird lover, hostess & cook for gawd only knows how many bikers and not afraid to take leaps based upon Faith alone - Ms. Bettye is truly a unique one of a kind person that's hard to find in today's world! She's no longer at that place above but is now, finally, taking care of Ms. Bettye!
"Biker Jimmy" aka Peter who came from Switzerland down to the Big Bend via Los Angeles on his Honda to ride the Big Bend along the Rio Grande with the Dingo. Peter spent some days and nights out there and the Dingo shared with Biker Jimmy as Peter shared with the Dingo. The DingoMan was humbled and honored someone would travel around the world to meet him!
Closest to the Dingo's Heart were women & children - Always! The Dingo had it rough growing up as a child, living with abusive dysfunctional adults who drank, dealt drugs and people who had absolutely no morals or spiritual roots. Those who knew the old boy in his later years knew how close he was to issues of homelessness, HIV, poverty and abuse. The Dingo was always promoting understanding and compassion. In his latter years he very quietly spent much time, effort, energy and his own resources trying to make a difference. Those in the Austin area will remember his efforts with Positive Threads and his outreach to women, children and people of color with HIV.
The Dingo insisted that he really wasn't going to marry her and he also said he and she did not get it on. Sometimes the Dingo was not always honest about who he slept with or screwed around with for that matter. Truth be known, he did get it on with the old gal since she "bewitched" him. No excuse some might say but the Dingo was enamored by this gal. Fact of the matter is, so were many others over the years down in Terlingua. This old gal is a legend in herself but sadly its a bad one. Little old ladies are not always as nice as they appear to be. This one in fact has no heart and no love for anything - she's cheated many honest people over the years! The Dingo was attracted to the obvious - he liked her tits! da Dingo didn't allow her to steal from him - he saw through her. His heart was still with Clay and she finally realized just that!
Those the Dingo loved the most, Those he considered his truest friends, Those he held close to his heart and were always with him in spirit, Those who gave him their Love..... He said that he will always be within, around and about them in Spirit..... Blessed Be! to them and a few others shown within these pages.....
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did. T. E. Lawrence

The DingoMan could be a cold hearted asshole at times - when deeply hurt he tended to strike back with a vengeance - often striking at those closest to him. More often than not, rather than striking back he would just get on his motorcycle and ride away, choosing to take those long rides to clear his head and thoughts and then come back to deal with that hurt in a more positive manner. Those who truly knew the old boy shared that pain with him and always knew that when he came back he would always attempt to make amends. This web site is dedicated not to Jim but to those who Loved him and stood by him, particularly his former partner, Clay Williams!
